The salary structure takes into account the high cost of living, and many of our staff members have been with us for several years and earn a very good salary with no income tax. Strands Day Spa comprises Strands Hair Salon and Strands Skin Spa. We are considered to be the premier facility in Bermuda affording an excellent reputation. We have been in business for 30 years and are situated in the most central part of the city of Hamilton on Reid Street. The Salon and Skin Spa are situated side by side at ground floor level with their own separate entrances.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 8:45 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday late openings ‘til 8pm.

All full-time employees work a five day week including Saturday. We cater to 99% resident clientele, therefore we are busy year-round and not subject to seasonal fluctuations that affect most of the hotels and resorts. In fact most of our stylists and therapists are fully booked on a daily basis.

The Hair Salon operates with ten senior hair stylists including the manager, five assistants, receptionist and senior receptionist. Many of our stylists have taken part in shows, and won awards. Strands work has been published in many international magazines, including Hairdresser’s Journal, Hair, Pelliguerias and Passion.

To be considered for a hair stylist position with us we require City & Guilds (or equivalent) with at least three years experience in a top salon gaining experience in precision cutting, blow drying, styling, colouring and hair processing. We require a portfolio of current work (photographs or email) along with all relevant certificates, a current Curriculum Vitae, 2 job references, dated on letterhead paper, 2 character references and a recent photograph of the applicant.

The Skin Spa houses a large Clarins retail centre, a complete day spa with sauna, whirlpool, showers, steam room, water room etc. We have nine treatment rooms with nine beauty therapists (each with her own room), one nail technician, a Clarins resident consultant, a spa attendant, receptionist and manageress.

To be considered for a position as beauty therapist you must be qualified by City & Guilds, I.T.E.C., C.I.D.E.S.C.O. (or equivalent) have at least two years experience with a top clinic or spa, and be proficient in all aspects of beauty therapy. Some of our basic requirements are Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Electrolysis, but it would be an advantage to also have LaStone, CACI, Reiki and Indian Head massage. Preference will be given to Clarins trained professionals. We need a current Curriculum Vitae, 2 job references, dated on letterhead paper, 2 character references and a recent photograph of the applicant.
